Changes to Seg-Social activity codes in 2026
When registering as an autónomo, you provide a CNAE activity code in your Seg-Social application.
Starting January 1, 2026, new activity codes will take effect for Seg-Social. The new CNAE25 codes replace the old CNAE09 ones.
For example, the old software development activity code 6201 now corresponds to the new 6210
For almost all old codes there are equivalents in the new CNAE25 list, so Seg-Social will automatically update those codes. However, there are codes where a single clear match can’t be determined—if that’s your case, you need to find and submit the new activity code yourself.
How do I know if I need to update my activity code manually?
You can check by logging into your Seg-Social personal area and going to Datos de trabajo autónomo.
If your data looks like this:
That means a match was found and you don’t need to do anything.
If your data looks like this:
Then you need to select the match manually.
In this example, the old code 7990 matches several new codes, so the system can’t apply the change automatically.
In that case, click Comunicar CNAE25 and choose the correct match.
What’s the deadline to submit the changes?
Seg-Social’s website says that if no automatic match was found for your code, you had time until June 30, 2025. However, this option is still available.
